Supporting local nonprofit organizations

Direct From The Heart has been a part of CADM since 1997.  It began as a program to recognize the pro bono work of members and to act as a clearinghouse between Chicago non-profits who needed direct marketing assistance and members willing to volunteer. In 1998, the need for affordable seminars for small nonprofits was identified. This first half-day seminar was presented in 1999, and in 2000, the seminar was expanded to a full day.  The full day seminars were later discontinued and in 2015 Direct From the Heart re-emerged as a speakers’ bureau.  While the program has taken various forms over the years and will continue to evolve, at its core Direct From The Heart is about connecting, sharing, and giving back to the nonprofit community.

CADM’s Direct From The Heart community outreach supports local nonprofit organizations through two initiatives: offering multichannel response marketing expertise to assist with the creation of successful individual giving and donor campaigns, and encouraging CADM members to engage with and support the cause of local nonprofits through individual efforts and programmed events.

Consider the ways that you can help nonprofit organizations connect with CADM and benefit from the expertise of CADM members:

  • Bring someone who works for a nonprofit as a guest to one of our educational programs
  • Forward articles on marketing practices to nonprofit staff members
  • Help a nonprofit enter the Tempo Awards or bring them as a guest to the Tempo Awards event.
  • Introduce nonprofits that need resources to CADM members you know who are experts in their field.
