As with all membership organizations, one of CADM’s top objectives is member engagement.  With a diverse membership throughout Chicagoland, CADM faces unique challenges with achieving this goal.

But on August 19th, the membership came together to celebrate CADM’s 60th Anniversary at the Annual Meeting. We celebrated an incredible milestone but more importantly we honored our incredibly hardworking, smart and generous member base and exchanged ideas amongst member about how we can make the organization stronger.

CADM’s fiscal year ends on July 31, and, as we wind down 2014/15,   I am pleased to report that your association continues on a sound financial footing.  CADM has been around since 1955 (hence the 60th celebration!), and is the most reputable regional direct marketing association in the country.  In our quest to serve the needs of our members and  keep CADM current in today’s marketing environment,  your leadership has invested substantial time into refining our branding and messaging, as well as enhancement of our infrastructure.

Michael Terrence McSweeney died unexpectedly on July 4, 2015 at his home in La Quinta, CA at the age of 78, following a 20 year battle with COPD.

Mike is survived by his wife of 55 years, Louise; his sister, Sr. Jean; his sons, David (Laura) and Mark (Cheryl); and his loved grandchildren, Michael, Tyler, Kristin, Erin, Brian and Kerrigan. He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Julia; his brother, Tom (Joan); and his nephew, Tim.

Please join me in welcoming Jean Ban to CADM’s board of directors! Jean, who is Executive Vice President, Integrated Account Services at CBD Marketing, has agreed to spearhead our rejuvenated community outreach efforts.  Past president, Holly Harle, who chaired our earlier community outreach program, Direct FromThe Heart (DFTH), has agreed to collaborate with Jean on this initiative.  I’m sure many of you remember the motivating programming DFTH provided in our annual nonprofit seminars, as well as our fascinating host venues, including Lincoln Park Zoo, Shedd Aquarium, and the Museum of Contemporary Art!  We’ll look forward to hearing more from Jean and Holly soon.
