CADM Workshops for Non-Profits


CADM's community outreach program, Direct From The Heart, began in 1997 as a program to recognize the pro bono work of members and to act as a clearinghouse between Chicago non-profits who needed direct marketing assistance and members willing to volunteer. In 1998, the need for affordable seminars for small nonprofits was identified. This first half-day seminar was presented in 1999, and in 2000, the seminar was expanded to a full day The annual full-day conference became an important component of DFTH for non-profits of all sizes.

Beginning in Fall 2015, Direct From The Heart will reemerge as a program offering single session presentations or workshops tailored to smalle

r non-profit organizations. Presentations will focus on three main areas:

  • Social Media as a One-to-One Response Channel
  • Individual Giving and Donor Campaigns
  • E-Marketing

To reach non-profits in the most efficient way possible, CADM is working collaboration with the Chicago Literacy Alliance and the Chicago Arts and Business Council. Together, the organizations are "umbrella" groups for hundreds of smaller non-profits and will take responsibility for providing a venue, promoting the DFTH presentations and handling all related logistics. CADM provides expert speakers/presenters. It's a win-win for CADM and the organizations.
